SDJ Exterior Cleaning began back in 1992 when I was 21. Like most window cleaners starting out, I worked from a car with a ladder on the roof and the basics in hand, an applicator and a squeegee, built on hard work, reliability and turning up when I said I would.

More than 30 years on, the equipment and methods have moved on massively, and so have we. We now operate with a hot water Thermo Pure reach and wash system that runs entirely from the van, which means we can complete the job without using the customer’s water or power. What started as traditional window cleaning has grown into a complete exterior cleaning service for both domestic and commercial customers.

Today we offer a full range of services including window cleaning, jet washing, softwashing using chemical solutions, roof cleaning, gutter emptying, and uPVC cleaning. We have also upgraded our pressure washing setup over the years, starting with a small electric pressure washer and moving on to a powerful petrol system. This can also be supplied from our van, giving us a reliable setup on site.

Safety and access have improved too. In the early days, much more work was done from ladders. These days we use modern equipment such as the Skyvac system, reducing the need to climb ladders and allowing us to tackle high and awkward areas more efficiently. We also have water fed poles that can reach up to 65ft, and our Skyvac equipment can reach properties up to 4 or 5 storeys high.

We cover Swansea and surrounding areas including Neath, Gower, Loughor and Skewen.

After decades in the trade, we have learned which methods and chemicals work best for each surface and type of staining, including organic growth and spores. I still get real satisfaction from taking on the most challenging cleans and seeing the transformation. That pride shows in our results and in the care we take on every job, always completed to the highest standard.
